Dr. Marisa Jenkins is a wife and mother who answered the call to ministry later in life. She is actively involved in women’s ministry, teaching and leading women, encouraging them to accurately handle the Word of Truth.
In 2021, Marisa graduated from Calvary Chapel University with a Master of Arts in Biblical Studies emphasizing Women’s Ministry. She then continued her studies, completing her PhD in Practical Theology at Columbia International University in 2024. Her dissertation topic, "Exploring the Psalms of Personal Lament for Women Living with Chronic Pain," is a subject that is personally impactful to her because of her own experiences with Rheumatoid Arthritis. Marisa received her Bachelor’s degree from Biola University and holds a Certificate in Biblical Hebrew from Reformed Theological Seminary.
Marisa is currently a Faculty member with Calvary Chapel University, a fully online Christian University which exists to serve lifelong learners and the ministries of churches worldwide by offering undergraduate and graduate programs in a Christ-centered community. In addition to teaching biblical studies and women’s ministry undergraduate and graduate courses at CCU, Marisa is the Director of the Associate of Arts and Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies Programs.
Marisa lives in Arizona, with her husband of 21+ years, and their teenage son. In her free time, she enjoys reading great books on theology and classic literature and searching for treasures while antique shopping.
"And Jesus came and said to them, 'All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.'" Matthew 28:18-20
